Team Membership Requirements
Below is the list of required gear and commitment to become a member and stay a member of the Sun Spiders Scenario Team.
Introduction
The Sun Spiders team is a very elite team and it's members are committed to bringing their 'A' game to everything they do. Because we take much pride in the way we play, practice and conduct ourselves in the sport of Paint Ball, we require those seeking to be members of this team to have the same kind of commitment. The core players of this team have been together as a team since 1998, and the team has gone through some changes over the years, however one thing that has always remained the same is the commitment to excellence.
Team Membership requirement:
Gear:
Uniforms - 1 set new Army Combat Uniform (ACU). This uniform must have name tape, Sun Spiders Tape, Rank, U.S. Flag (right shoulder, patch is either the IR flag or OD green inverted flags), Sun Spider team patch (left shoulder). 1 set Sub-dued Digital Urban Uniform (SDU). This uniform only has the U.S. Flag (right shoulder, patch is either the IR flag or OD green inverted flags), Sun Spider team patch (left shoulder).
Footwear - either Combat boots or earth-colored Hiking Boots (nothing that is not tactical in appearance, i.e. Blue or Red etc. colored boots)
Marker - .68 caliber, semiautomatic (can be automatic as long as it can be set to semi if the field requires semiautomatic only). Tactically colored (no blue, silver, red etc. colored markers). A marker that is not tactical in appearance may be used as a back-up in the case where the primary marker goes down and all attempts to repair the marker have failed (must receive permission from Command Staff)
Mask - Tactically colored (no blue, red, etc) mask
Headset and mic - Either a normal headset/mic, or a tactical Throat-lash. These must be compatible with the model of Motorola we deploy. At the present time, a radio will be issued to new recruits. Should we run out of radios, it is required that the recruit purchases a radio that is identical to the radios we use
Tactical Vest - This is not required, but it is urged to get. This allows you to store your ammo pods, radio and tank into the vest. Some also have Camel Back systems, which are a plus.
Financial commitment - each team member is obligated to help pay for the team website and domain name. To be able to afford going to games (covering their entry fees, paint/air and food. As well as the transportation costs of getting to the event.
Time commitment - being able to attend most practices and games takes a commitment to the team.
These are the basic requirements for being a member of the Sun Spiders team.
