CONGRATULATIONS to Mossman for becoming a new DAD. Kick Ass bro. Let the team know if you need anything.
The first game of 2008 is fast approaching. May 17 - 18 in Agate, CO. We are playing on the Red side teaming up with our good friends SRR and 51/50 under the T.A.G. U.R. I.T. banner, sort of. This will give us the manpower we need to deny the enemy property as well as take it. We will also be able to run all missions since we will have the numbers for we would assume any mission.
Tommy is a new Sherriff Deputy, congrats brother, and Josh is testing for Computer related work. Mike is still selling homes and working.
The team has a new member, Goose. Goose is actually also getting ready to leave our team for the real team of the U.S. Army, go little brother.
Old News
The Sun Spiders are excited to announce that they are expanding their presence across the world. The team is starting a sister element on the African continent, South Africa to be precise. The South African detachment of the Sun Spiders are being put together on the ground in SA by one of the new team members, Irish. He has begun the process of assembling a team in Cape Town. There is much work to do, and too early to give more news. Ne Conjugare Nobiscum!
The team has gotten 2 new players. Cisco and Jammer join the team, and we are looking forward to getting into the thick of it with them. The first game of the 2007 season will be at Agate Colorado May 5-6. There is at least one new team making there debut at that game and we wish them the best of luck in their paintball endeavors.
The team suffered a set back this month. Unfortunately we lost several players this month. Wolf, Skinny, Darklord, Blade, Redshirt, Raider, Lyter and a newcomer Nymesis all quit the team. We wish them luck in what ever they do in the world of paintball from this point on. On a very positive note we did add a new member, Rogue. She will be called upon to carry some of the load now that we are a bit smaller. Overall change is good, and the team will grow from the loss. Being 4-5 people smaller will make it actually a little easier to carry out the kind of missions that we run. This team has been in existence since 1998 and we have come through adversities to be a better team. I expect that this change will be no different.
The last game in Agate was not a great game for the team. We did not have everyone present and ran more of a blocking type force. Overall the game was fun, but we did not run our normal style which made the game less fun. Our side was also short on players, our General(s) quit the game and so that made the game allot harder and also allot less fun.
D-Day has come and gone, and as feared, was an utter disappointment. The lesson taken from that game is that we will never go back again. Nothing ever seems to change and we could easily fill pages upon pages of why the event just isn't worth the drive or the money to play in. If anyone out there reads this, and is thinking of attending the game for the first time, be warned. It seemed as it has in the past, that no one is one the same sheet of music, and that is a really bad thing. Considering we were on the field an hour and a half before the start and were not allowed to get into position until the start, which left us about a mile and a half out of position and accounted for our side not having a chance in hell of winning. Too expensive, way too hot, way too much politics.
BCP is no longer in business at their "old" location. We do not know if this is a permanent move or if the field will reopen in any new location. We thank BCP for the good times we have had there and for letting us utilize their facilities to train the team. Good luck with whatever the future holds for them.
The team participated in the Earth Ender event in Agate, CO. Our side (the Government) won the game. Both sides played well and hats off to SitRepRed for getting MVT, you guys did an awesome job, congrats!
The Team will be deploying for the first game of the season on April 1-2 at Earth Ender held by Fledgling Scenarios. The game is in Agate, CO. The Spiders will be on the Government side ensuring that the United States remains a strong Democracy (or some semblance there of). The next slated event is D-Day, with the team deploying on the side of the Allies. Our role in the game is confidential and no mentions will be made as to what type of role we will play in the Invasion and liberation of Europe from the grip of Germany.
This season the Sun Spiders will be deploying all new weapons, adding to our ability to sustain a lethal push against our enemies. The Spiders have 4 new members on the team. SGT Mig, SGT. Darklord, SGT. Skinny and SGT. Raider X. Welcome to the team.
The Sun Spiders have also been mentioned in a scenario book, it can be found on the web @ http://www.mnmilitia.com/book/images/excerpts.pdf There are many exciting things on the horizon for the team, so look for us to be hitting the enemy hard.
